Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

This little guy put the bucket on his head in the church nursery this morning and after about 15 minutes he fell asleep - still sitting up with the bucket on his head.  Hilarious!!!

Took time down at the beach and ate at the Red Chair stalls out in Batu Ferringhi tonight.

Sweet Salima who was so shy when we first started at the school, and who is now full of smiles and spunk every time we are there!

Bob had the privilege of dedicating the chosen son of our dear friends here in Penang.  It was a beautiful and emotional moment for all of us!

  Evening reflections in Hanoi.

One of the benefits of being on the leadership team of our conference in Hanoi was being the one to choose the menus - especially good for a picky eater like me!  Fruit and a version of creme caramel for dessert tonight.

Basket sales on the bikes on the streets of Hanoi.

We walked down to the beach at sunset and came around the corner to this beautiful sight...what an incredible wedding reception!!

A small, roadside Hindu temple close to our home.

I was struck with the contrast in this picture - while the guest workers from other countries work to construct the beautiful new homes in the background, they live in the pieced-together shacks in the foreground.

Bob on Skype, assuring Sarah of our safety after the large earthquakes and tsunami warnings that happened while she was sleeping in Canada.  From what we've heard there's been no significant damage and we're thankful, especially thinking of those who experienced the devastation of the tsunami several years ago.   Though we didn't know what it was, we felt the earthquake this afternoon - we thought our van was running really rough, rocking while we were sitting at a stoplight!  Grateful for safety tonight,  not only for ourselves, but for all throughout the region.

We had a nice evening visit with our friends down at Straits Quay tonight.  It's a beautiful place.

  Home sweet home.
Image
We walk by this new ice cream store as we leave our new worship location at the Gurney Paragon and every time I see it, it reminds me of Calgary and all the symbols of 'Cowtown' there!
Image
Remembering and being grateful for the love of God, available to all, through the sacrifice of Christ on the cross and His resurrection.  "He has risen!  He is not here!"  Alleluia!
Image
Mango shakes and ROOK at the airport before leaving for Penang.  Mango shakes are everywhere and wow, are they good!  I'll be trying to make them at home with the vague 'recipe' I got from the guy who made the best one I had!

We stayed in this home for two nights during our time in Donsol, the out-of-the-way village  that lies close to where the whale sharks swim.  A home stay was an interesting experience,  and our hostess, Marilyn, did a fantastic job of arranging everything for us.
Image
One of the boats out on the morning waters searching for whale sharks.  After nearly two hours of slowly moving through the water, our guides started shouting for us to get ready and we were the first ones to see the whale shark.  A little while later, we all jumped in the water to see the second one....swimming along with him for more than ten minutes.  Amazing experience!

After an early morning flight from Manila, we toured a few places around Legazpi  including some old  church ruins in the shadow of the Mayon volcano.  Walking back, I caught this picture  of these two beautiful little girls playing together.
Image
We took a walk down from our hotel and found the biggest mall in the Philippines and the third largest in the world.  We randomly walked around and were surprised when we walked out the other side and saw this beautiful view of Manila Bay...really didn't expect this!

We flew to KL and found our teeny tiny Tune hotel room...never had to BACK into bed  before!!
